IMMERSE YOUSELF IN CREATIVITY

The Workshop Studio is open and ready for you!

For the past 5 years, I've had the opportunity to teach students from my home studio. My idea to renovate a large space to use for workshops and teaching classes went into motion during COVID-19. Being in lockdown freed up time to clear out the space and set it up to be a usable studio where students could come to learn, create and make lasting friendships with other artists.

I began teaching pouring workshops. As interest has grown, I've added weekly classes in painting and drawing. You'll find a few different days and time slots available to you. Pay-as-you-go makes it easy for you to fit weekly classes into your busy schedule.

At the Thursday night food and art club (as we've named it) students can bring food to share with each other. There is a short catch up while eating dinner and afterward, students get to work on their creations.

I hope you consider joining me for a workshop or class. If you have any questions, please email me at artist@evafolks.com. I look forward to seeing you!

Overview:

In this acrylic pouring workshop, you’ll learn all the basics you need to know.

I’ve developed a process for the pours I create that’s given me great results. I’ll be sharing this process with you, step-by-step, so you can create great pours too!

We’ll be:

  • Creating two 8x8” pours (1 on canvas and 1 on wood panel)

  • Learning how to prepare our work surfaces

  • Mixing paint formulations for pouring

  • Learning about the weight of paints

  • Discussing what we need to have on hand for pouring

  • Discussing what paints to use

  • Learning a bit about colour theory

Make sure you wear clothing and shoes you can get paint on. Pouring can be a bit messy!

Also, you won’t be able to take your pours home on the day of the workshop. They need to dry. We can make arrangements for you to pick up your creations a few days later.
